Asma is the president & Co founder of the Tunisian Center for Social Entrepreneurship. She studied engineering accounting in Tunisia, however, herself expressed that this education did not prove to be satisfying nor suitable for her in order to follow her passions and find a career she loved. During her university years, Asma was involved in multiple leadership positions in student organizations including Junior Chamber International (JCI) and AIESEC (a global youth network). Following her graduation from university, Asma was offered a scholarship by the US Embassy to pursue a mini-MBA and right after finishing in 2010, she was offered another scholarship for a Master degree by the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce in Tunisia. Passionate about the belief that people must lead the change they desire, Asma co-founded a human rights organization, the People’s Movement for Human Rights Learning (PDHRE Tunisia), which aimed at integrating human rights into citizens’ daily lives. During Asma’s involvement in the citizen sector, she had an eye-opening experience while witnessing the great needs of an organized civil society and the potential of social entrepreneurship while visiting Japan. This led her to co-found the center in 2011. Asma is an Ashoka Fellow and current president of the TCSE.


Bio

Marie-Laetitia is an expert in international relations, with focus on European affairs and relations with emerging economies, energy policies, climate and sustainable development. She graduated at La Sorbonne (Paris I) and Pantheon-Assas Universities (Paris II) in Paris, France, respectively in international relations and international law. Formerly Energy Analyst at the International Energy Agency (IEA/OECD), she worked for a collaborative programme regarding clean energy technologies with emerging economies. She has also worked as Consultant at the French Prime Minister’s Office for European Affairs on issues related to the EU European Neighbourhood Policy with Eastern countries and Russia. Marie-Laetitia is currently the Director of the French office of a pan-european Foundation aiming at developing collaborative projects with South Caucasus countries and the Caspian region. In addition, she is Consultant on Sustainable Development issues, with focus on geopolitics of energy and climate risks. She is also a member of the ad hoc Group of Expert for Renewable Energy at the UN Economic Commission for Europe and board member of the Young Professionals in Energy (YPE) network in Paris.

Founder & CEO of SusCrete Infrastructure Consulting. Olukayode is a vibrant and passionate civil engineer with an eye for entrepreneurship, sustainable development strategies, technical engineering consulting and empowering those in need specifically focussing on the African continent. He has over 5 years combined experience as a civil engineer. He is a registered member of the South African Institute of Civil Engineers (SAICE) and the Institute of Structural Engineers (IStructE). He was nominated as a Falling Walls Young Innovator in 2015 (Top 100 from around the world), Unilever’s Changemakers 2015 and for the Paris pre-COP21 UN CFCC (Our common future under climate change) in July 2015 discussing issues on concrete and environmental sustainability for sub-Saharan Africa. He has a BSc & MSc in Civil Engineering and is currently undergoing a specialised Master’s in International Construction Management at the Politecnico di Milano.

Leclère DIFFO is an associate climate activist, living in Yaoundé – Cameroon. He is a Jurisconsult and “Ambassador for the Integrity of Water in Africa”.

In 2009, he founded and launched two complementary environmental associations aiming to fight against climate change and promoting sustainable development: GREEN HORIZON (GRHO) and Education For All Cameroon (EFACAM). He is one of the co-founders of Cameroon WASH Media and Civil Society Organization (CAMERWASH). Following his ambitions and motivations as Climates Changes activist, he participates in the achievement of several projects; took part to international meetings on climate changes where he had the opportunity to represent Central Africa as well as Cameroon.

In 2014, he founded the called “Collectif pour la RSE” (COSCIRSEC). He is also member of organizations such as the National Forum on the Green Economy and professional association, including RC&D, partnership with CMW, WIN and GWP, and an active promotor of ECO4CLIM in Cameroon and Central Africa.

Currently, he is working with the Sustainable Consumption and Production Regional Activity Center UNEP/MAP, and has been a business broker for UNDP and other development-focused international organizations. He holds a degree in Economics and postgraduate MBA. He has 10 years of previous professional experience in the private sector and has covered various fields in the areas of strategic and operational planning, sectoral studies & market research as well as business partnerships, trade and investment promotion.

Margarita Albors is currently the Founder & President of Socialnest.org, a pioneer nonprofit incubator for social enterprises in Spain, supporting social and eco entrepreneurs from a very early stage to grow their companies leveraging a network of professionals and companies that collaborate with the organization. Margarita has been focusing on social entrepreneurship since 2009, first working at the NGO Women’s Initiative for Self -Employment in California (USA) before founding Socialnest. Previously, Margarita worked for multinational companies in the fond pharmaceutical industries in Spain and the UK. Margarita is also a frequent speaker at social entrepreneurship and innovation forums.

Noriko is a communications director at an environmental NGO Japan for Sustainability (JFS) in Tokyo. She gained her master’s degree in international environmental studies at Lund University in Sweden. She is involved with JFS since its establishment as a volunteer in English translation and event management, and after her study in Sweden, she joined JFS in 2006 and engages in spreading sustainability information regarding projects/initiatives ongoing throughout Japan by a variety of players from national government to citizen groups worldwide. Since 2011, she takes in charge of overseas relations and research for the Institute of Studies in Happiness, Economy and Society. Karima Bergheul is a founder and president at the Association of Women in the Green Economy (AFEV, Association des Femmes en Economie Verte). She works at the ministry of energy as an Electrical Engineer senior with a 20 years of practical experience, in addition She has a master degree in solar energy and she worked also at the center of development of renewable energy as a researcher.

In a social and political life, she is engaged at the green party for development in Algeria as a president of a commission of renewable energy.

As a president at the association of women in green economy, she trained 75 eco-entrepreneurs in green economy with a support of the US embassy and the training concerned the enhancement of their managerial capacity and helped them to built their own green business model canvases, and she coached 20 of them to create their own green business, and still now the association try to increase the development of the green jobs in Algeria to have more PME in green economy.

Rodolfo is a biologist, passionate about applied research and innovation and entrepreneur by vocation oriented to collaborative projects that pursue the common good. He is committed to the interaction between science, technology, environment and sustainable development.

As a professional in the Business Consulting sector, focused on the promotion, management and development of projects with processes of internationalization, innovation and transfer. Currently, he is also coordinating an institutional agreement between an Iberian institution and another from the Buenos Aires province (CEG-TECNOTUR Agreement) to promote Triple Impact initiatives in Argentina.

Santiago Ortega Arango is a Civil Engineer and a Master’s Degree in Hydraulic Resources Engineering from the National University of Colombia and a Fellow in Global Journalism from the Munk School of Global Affairs at the University of Toronto.

In his professional life he has worked in structuring and developing hydroelectric projects such as Clean Development Mechanisms – CDM – with Generadora Unión. He has also worked in applied research on climate change and renewable energy with the National University and the EIA University. Among the projects are: Identification of the energy potential of the sea in Colombia and analysis of the technologies of measurement and use for the generation of electric energy at commercial level, financed by EPM through the CIIEN, Hydroclimatological characterization of the basin of the Rio Claro for the generation of geothermal energy, financed by ISAGEN.

He is currently the director of EnergEIA, the renewable energy strategy of the EIA University that focuses on studying the role of energy prosumers in the electricity sector, and on identifying business opportunities that allow the transformation of the system.

She is an idealist perserverant, proactive and with leadership skills. Since years ago she is actively collaborating as a volunteer, local spokesperson and activist at Greenpeace, being a constant source of learning and information.

Henrique studied Animal Science Engineering at the University of Évora and graduated in 1997; after that, he specialized in “Cooperation for Development” at the National Institute for Public Administration (INA) and post graduated in “International Relations and European Studies” again at the University of Évora. He also took the ISEP – INSEAD Social Entrepreneurship Program, powered by INSEAD and IES-Social Business School.

Between 2003 and 2006 he was director of the local development association “Terras Dentro”, an NGO with a staff about 40 people, where, since 1997, he idealized and coordinated several projects in areas such as regional development, adult education and training, culture and heritage, cross-border cooperation and development cooperation programs, among other initiatives. Since 2006, he is Advisor to the General Secretary in Fundação Eugénio de Almeida, where he is responsible for the creation and the development of projects mainly in social area, but also in different themes, such as cross-border, trans-regional and international cooperation projects; culture and heritage projects; among others. He is also Coordinator of the Social Area. Between November 2015 and October 2016, he was at the Portugal Inovação Social, an national structure promoted by the Portuguese Government, in the framework of EU Funds, to promote social entrepreneurship and innovation. He was responsible for Alentejo antenna.

He is one of the founders, President of the General Assembly and actually the President of the Board of Directors at “Alentejo de Excelência”, a nonprofit organization for the study, promotion and discussion of strategies for a sustainable development of the Alentejo region.

In the last years, he has been involved in national and regional initiatives of social entrepreneurship, such as 3Day Startup, Évora Startup Weekend, Bootcamp IES-SBS, Junior Achievement Portugal, Big Smart Cities, Ignite Portugal, and others. It was invited to become Vice-President of the regional delegation in Alentejo of DECO – National Consumer Defense Organization, in the tree-year period 2009-2012. He is also one of the founders, and now member of the Supervisory Board, of ESLIDER – Third Sector Leaders Network (2011-2013 and 2013-2015). He writes in a regular basis about social innovation and social entrepreneurship for Tribuna Alentejo (www.tribunaalentejo.pt), a media site.
